Description

This course is based on and includes the revolutionary book Therapeutic Stretching: Towards a Functional Approach. The book’s author, Eyal Lederman, is a physiotherapist and osteopath, based in Great Britain, who brings broad experience and international authority to his presentation of this important topic. This innovative text challenges our thinking on traditional stretching approaches and techniques. Prof. Lederman presents convincing arguments, based on current research, that explain how a functional approach is both appropriate and effective to provide long-term improvements in range of movement. The text is richly illustrated, showing numerous examples of functional stretching techniques. This course may help transform therapists’ philosophy of the therapeutic value of stretching and how best to approach ROM challenges with patients. It will be immediately useful in clinical practice for all physical therapy and occupational therapy providers.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------COURSE OBJECTIVES: After successfully completing this continuing education course, the therapist should be able to: 1.
